TAPESTRY

Written by Patricia Ann (Chiddix) Lightfoot

Our family is a tapestry

Of colors soft and bold

Some are threads of earth tone

And some are threads of gold.

We're woven on a background

As stable as the land

Each thread has been positioned

By our Master's loving hand.

Dad was our firm canvas-

The background we all share

And just because our background's gone

Our threads don't have to tear.

Our pattern's been established

For over fifty years

We can't let our work of art

To mildew with our tears.

The threads within this pattern

Have all been dearly matched

Our beauty is a lasting one

If all threads stay attached.

So, though our threads are different

Our fabric is secure

We'll overcome this heartache--

Our family WILL endure.

Thank you, Pat! These words came directly from the "Throne Room" of God to your yielding hand and comforted our hearts.
